If you’ve been lucky enough to visit one of our remodeled Fazoli’s restaurants, you most likely oohed and aahed at the new communal dining tables, new modernized interior, and guest-wifi capabilities. We bet it comes as no surprise that our loyal Fazoli’s fans felt the same way, too! But as Franchise Times pointed out in their latest Fazoli’s feature, these design improvements were only the most recent revenue boosters in a lengthy period of growth for the brand.
When our renovation project began to take shape, we were just finishing up our seventeenth quarter of same-store sales growth — that’s four and a half years of steady progression as a brand. Impressive, yes. But it’s even more impressive when you take a walk down memory lane to see how far we’ve really come.
Our first order of business? To roll out a few small-scale, interior remodels for our company-owned locations. We stuck to a “replace and refresh” plan, focusing mostly on exterior improvements. By freshening up just three of our locations to start, we were able to end the year with a double-digit sales increase. From there, the decision to roll out more in depth redesigns for our nine additional company-owned locations, adding even more upgrades to the mix, was a no-brainer — and we saw a 10-percent increase in sales to justify it, too!
So, what’s next for the Fazoli’s brand?
It’s been a long, hard, and rewarding road for the Fazoli’s family, but we’re not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon! This past October, we unveiled a remodel program for our franchisees, which includes four levels of remodel options to choose from, with a five-year payback period or less for franchisees that choose to take advantage of the program.
