Meet Our Franchisees: Mark Crayne of Fazoli’s in Texas
Our success has a lot to do with the hard work and dedication that comes from our franchisees – without them, we wouldn’t be thriving in 25 states! Because of this, lately we’ve been conducting interviews with our franchisees so that you can get to know them on the same level that we do.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to the one and only, Mark Crayne - check out his interview with us below.
Q: Where is your Fazoli’s Franchise located?
A: One of my Fazoli’s is located in Lubbock, Texas, but I have six locations in the state in total.
Q: When did you become a Fazoli’s franchisee?
A: I first joined the Fazoli’s team in 1997.
Q: How many people do you have on staff?
A: My staff roster currently includes over 200 employees, all of which do an excellent job each and every day.
Q: How did you first learn about Fazoli’s?
A: I first learned about Fazoli’s when I visited a company-owned location in Florida.
Q: Is this your first franchise?
Q: What prompted you to choose Fazoli’s over other franchises?
A: What intrigued me the most about Fazoli’s was that it is a unique concept that provides good Italian food fast, and at very reasonable prices.
Q: What advice would you give someone looking to buy a Fazoli’s franchise?
A: One of the most important things prospective franchisees can do is do their homework to find the right location - location is key! Then...go for it!
Q: How do you feel about being part of the brand?
A: It has been wonderful – I have always been strong on the brand and the possibilities it provides.
Q: What do you think have been some key factors in your success with Fazoli’s?
A: I would say our success comes from a combination of a few things. First and foremost, we’re extremely dedicated to our guests and our great management team and employees – both are equally important to us. Additionally, we’re also very committed to our concept and focus on speed of service, as well as delivering great food with a great value – this, we know, is what our customers are looking for. Last but not least, we’re strategic with our locations!
Q: Where do you currently live? How long have you lived there?
A: I live in Lubbock, Texas and have been there for 22 years.
Q: How did you get your start in the restaurant industry?
A: I first stepped foot into the restaurant industry when I was 14. At that time, I worked in the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant in Houston, Texas.
Q: What did you do prior to franchising with Fazoli’s?
A: Prior to joining the Fazoli’s team, I was the Director of Operations for an international playground company.
Q: Are you involved in any community organizations?
A: Yes! Right now I’m working with the University Group at my church.
Q: Anything interesting you want to add? Hobbies/passions?
A: Truth is, I really am rather consumed by the business. Some may say that makes me quite boring, but in my eyes, each day is exciting!
