In order to perpetuate the success of our brand and hold true to our values, we’ve searched far and wide to put together the best franchising team around. Each and every one of our executive leaders brings something unique and inspiring to the table. So, without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to the Fazoli’s Franchising Team that makes it all possible.
Carl T. Howard, President and CEO
Carl is the top dog here are Fazoli’s, and for good reason! Since being recruited to head up the franchise in 2008, Carl has worked hard to help Fazoli’s rebrand and recapture the “Fast Fresh Italian” concept. In 2013, he was named the Gold Stevie Award Winner of the Food and Beverage Executive of the Year by the American Business Association. He was also named the second most influential industry CEO by FastCasual.com, bringing Fazoli’s to the top of the Fast Casual “Top 50 Movers and Shakers” list as 2013 Brand of the Year. But his accomplishments didn’t stop there, Carl was also named the No. 1 restaurant executive on the 2014 Fast Casual “Top 100 Movers and Shakers” list the following year. In his spare time, Carl is actively involved with the Feed the Children organization, having been presented with the Feed the Children Community Excellence Award in 2013.
Doug Bostick, Vice President of Franchise Services
Doug assumed his most recent position with the Fazoli’s franchising team over a year ago. However, he isn’t new to the Fazoli’s family by any means! Prior to serving as the Vice President of Franchise Services, Doug held down the fort as Vice President of Franchise Operations from May 2014 to September 2015, and was the Director of Franchise Operations for two and a half years before that. But his history with Fazoli’s doesn’t stop there! In fact, Doug first joined Fazoli’s in October 2000 as an Area Supervisor, a position he remained in for five years until being promoted to Regional Franchise Business Consultant.
Sam Nelson, Vice President of Franchise Recruitment & Development
Sam Nelson is one of our most tenured employees on the franchising team, and was the very first Franchise Business Consultant to be hired in 1994. Since then, he has held various positions as the Director of Franchise Operations, Group Chairman of Franchise Operations and eventually Vice President of Franchise Operations. In November 2006, Sam assumed his most recent role as Vice President of Franchise Development & Recruitment.
Steve Bailey, Senior Director of Franchise Sales
Steve Bailey, a seasoned franchise executive, joined our team at the beginning of 2016 as Senior Director of Franchise Development. Prior to Fazoli’s, Steve was the Senior Director of Franchise Development for Sonic Drive-in Restaurants. Prior to Sonic, he served as Director of Franchise Development for Einstein Bros. Bagels, and held the same position with Checker’s Drive-In Restaurant.
Perry Pelton, Director of Real Estate
Perry Pelton is our go-to guy when it comes to acquiring new sites for new franchises. He joined the Fazoli’s family in October 2014, after working as a Region Real Estate Manager for McDonald’s Corporation for 27 years. Prior to his long stint with McDonald’s, Perry spent his early career working with real estate developers in Texas.
