Fazoli’s Featured in Nation’s Restaurant News
In early November, Nation’s Restaurant News highlighted three private restaurant companies that are excelling in the industry, and Fazoli’s was one of them! Despite a decrease in traffic and weak same-store sales for other restaurant concepts, we are proud to be among those that are on an upward path.
As you may have heard from previous Fazoli’s news, our same-store sales for the quarter ending September 30, 2016 increased 5.1 percent. This marks our 14th consecutive quarter where we’ve seen same-store sales growth, and out of the past 18 quarters, we have experienced same-store sales increases in 17 of them.
So what’s our secret?
While much of our success is attributed to the excellent franchisees who own and run many of our restaurants, we have given our brand a complete overhaul in recent years to improve our offerings and better the Fazoli’s name. For example, we revamped our menu to include foods that are made from higher quality ingredients, enhanced our catering program, began implementing new software and technology, introduced a more contemporary design to many of our restaurants and so much more!
We also can’t leave out a very important person who has helped bring our brand back to life – our CEO Carl Howard. When Carl first came on board in 2008, our brand needed a leader that could completely transform things, and he did just that. To bring Fazoli’s back to the top, Carl aimed to:
- Ensure that all of our food is freshly prepared
- Improve 90% of our menu
- Refresh the look and feel of our restaurants
- Bring back the breadstick delivery service
- Eliminate foam plates and plastic cutlery
Thanks to all of his hard work, dedication and persistence to introduce these changes across all of our restaurants, we’ve seen our sales numbers grow consistently, and 91 of our locations have even broken sales records! More on Carl Howard can be found here.
