CEO Carl Howard Talks Employee Retention With Restaurant Business
In recent news: Fazoli’s President and CEO Carl Howard took a seat at the Restaurant Business table, with some of his peers in the restaurant industry, to discuss the best ways to boost employee morale when times are tough.
A lot is going on in the restaurant world under the latest presidential administration, which can cause things to be a bit difficult at times. While many of these changes are certainly for the better, as a business owner, it’s not always easy to keep employees on board through periods of transition.
Restaurant Business recognized this to be true, which is why they reached out to industry vets with a combined 110 years of restaurant experience to have them weigh in on the matter and share their tactics for keeping employee morale up during a transition or downturn in business. Among these was our very own fearless leader, Carl Howard.
So, how is Fazoli’s keeping employees motivated?
For starters, by remembering how valuable each and every one of our employees truly is to our business. In Carl’s opinion, keeping the lines of communication wide open has been the best policy, in both times of downturn, as well as times of success. To keep these two-way communication lines alive, Carl has been hosting associate and manager roundtable meetups for Fazoli’s employees across the nation. This allows him to get direct feedback from each of our franchise locations, but also presents the opportunity for Carl to reinforce brand values and instill confidence that the company is headed for a bigger and brighter future.
In essence, our employees give our food a “voice,” a “friendly face,” and a “kind smile” that keeps our customers coming back.
