5 Resolutions Franchise Owners Should Keep in 2018
With each new year comes the opportunity to start fresh, and what a fantastic opportunity it is! If you’re anything like us, you’ve pinpointed your personal resolutions already, and have probably even gotten started on a few — stick to a healthy diet, hit the gym more often, save more money, etc. But have you thought up any professional goals to add to the mix, as well?
If not, don’t worry — it’s never too late to take the first step towards a more prosperous future, especially in the QSR world! So, without further ado, here are a few New Year’s resolutions that we suggest all franchise owners in the foodservice industry make (and keep) for 2018.
1. I will make time for myself.
Life can get pretty hectic as a business owner. It’s important to take a step back every once in awhile to enjoy the little things — a weekend spent with family, a short holiday away from home, or even just a good book on your lunch break. Remember to take a break from the craziness of your day-to-day duties and focus on yourself. Surprisingly enough, stepping away from the business every so often and returning with a clear head can actually help it thrive even better in the long run.
2. I will try something new.
Practice makes progress! Don’t be afraid to try something different within your business. Keep things in a progressive state to stay ahead of the curve and enhance your professional growth overall. For those of you that own a Fazoli’s, perhaps encourage a different management style or test out a new menu item in your market.
3. I will invest in myself.
Similar to trying something new, it’s important to also learn something new. Often, learning a new skill will end up influencing new practices within your business. What have you been yearning to find out more about over the past year? Now’s the time to take up a new hobby or deep dive into an area of your business that you’d like to better understand.
4. I will think positively.
Leave any negative energy at the door and start 2018 on the right foot with a positive attitude. Running a business can be stressful at times. Remind yourself why you decided to start this business endeavor and remember all those guests you’ve made smile along the way.
5. I will stay on top of my industry.
As a business owner, it’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day that you forget to take time out to research the trends in your industry as a whole.
